Project Overview ✦
I developed a diversity campaign encouraging women to “close the gender gap” in the 3D Printing World.
The social ads created for the diversity campaign utilize vibrant colors and fluid compositions to encourage women to pursue a career in 3D Printing. With dynamic layouts and bold visuals, the ads focus on inclusivity and creativity while exploring diverse compositions and graphics. The striking design elements evoke a sense of finality and inclusivity which speaks to the campaign's message.
Breaking Down the Design
Graphic Compositions
-
To save time, the illustrations were made by a creator on Adobe Stock, and I laid them out in an interesting pattern to allow the graphics to speak to the message rather than the text.
-
The balance of the design was something that was thought about. The text was balanced with the graphic beside it to create a sense of finality to the eye.
Typographic Compositions
-
The only graphics used in these typographic compositions are the morphing bubbles to speak to the "closing the gender gap" message. The idea is that the type ads are centered on typography.
-
With a custom typographic scale, the ads have a balance of small typography bordering the bigger headlines, allowing the focus to center on the headlines.
Brand Consistency
-
While dark brown and burnt red-orange are not part of the brand guidelines established by Carbon, they tend to use those colors often in their social media, so bringing those colors into the campaign allowed diversity to coincide with the purple.
-
Carbon often uses circles in its social media designs, so making a morphing circle design across the campaign was intentional. The message to "close the gender gap" is communicated graphically AND typographically.
